Today we held a special 12-hour charity tweet-a-thon on Twitter, organized by Scott Stratten. Our aim was to reach our target of $12,000 for the month of March. We did that in 6 hours. Our final tally was $13,000 for the day, which takes the March charity’s donations to just over $14,500 as I type this.
This is amazing and I just wanted to say thank you to everyone who took part.
Hellofa shenanigan, gentlemen. Goosebumps. I was stuck in horrible meetings all day long listening, ironically, to sterile marketers argue against the power of social media. The old ROI defense.
I watched you guys from my iPhone under the boardroom table. The suits couldn't figure out why I was smiling so big.
Unbelievable.
Thanks for giving me the inspiration I needed to finally leave the suits behind.
Today, I go to my Twitter bio and delete "Straight-laced marketer by day . . ."

You are very welcome DB and it was my honour to play a small part in today's Tweet-a-Thon, and this experience today was most humbling even after being involved with NPOs for such a long time. It's such a great feeling to make a difference in the lives of other people and to be a part of something that is greater than ourselves; lifting up others!
